Unless you prefer your vintage over-ears, wireless headphones are the way of the future, at least according to Apple. After nixing the headphone jack on the upcoming iPhone 7, everyone is scrambling to find the best pair of Bluetooth cans they can find. Here are six of our favorites.
Jaybird X2 Sport ($100)
These earbuds have been popular with workout enthusiasts who don’t want a cord dangling around them in the gym. With an eight-hour battery life and a lifetime sweat warranty, the Jaybird X2s are a great replacement for the stock AirPods.
Bose QuietComfort 35 ($350)
Bose is sometimes criticized for relying on its brand name , but when it comes to noise cancelation, none are better. The QuietComfort 35s are the updated wireless edition of the popular 25s and are capable of Near Field Communications (an alternative to Bluetooth), though it is still unsupported by the iPhone.
Samsung Gear IconX ($200)
Samsung began advertising their IconX earbuds months ahead of Apple’s AirPods. Its peculiar design has no cords, just a speaker for each ear that connects through Bluetooth. The IconX can connect to your iPhone through Bluetooth, but keep in mind the fitness functions are only compatible with Samsung phones.
Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 ($500)
For a luxurious, audiophile-quality experience, the Sennheiser Momentum 2.0s are one of the best choices available for wireless, over-ear headphones. At $500, its one of the pricier pairs you can get, but plush leather pads, superb sound and 22-hour battery life (with noise cancelation on) make it one of the best choices.
Beats Solo3 Wireless ($300)
If the Momentums are too expensive, the Beats Solo3 are $200 cheaper for almost double the battery life, in a range of nice colors. Audiophiles might knock the sound quality, but you can’t argue with the style.
Apple AirPods ($160)
The stock earbuds coming with your iPhone 7 are decent enough. Unlike the other products on this list, the AirPods will be able to instantly pair to your iPhone, plus they have the option of being wired to non-Bluetooth devices.
