Dreaming of studying abroad in Turkey? Even if your particular university doesn’t offer study abroad programs in the country, you can still make your goals a reality. Check out the following options for an enriching, educational stay in Istanbul.
CIEE helps students from any institution enjoy top-tier study abroad experiences. They’re currently taking application for their Fall 2017 Istanbul session, with applications due May 1, 2017. In addition to a wide array of courses available while there, students also enjoy immersive cultural experiences, an introduction to the Turkish language and visits to other areas outside Istanbul. Scholarships and grants for the program are available.
AIFS offers similar programs for students at all universities, and the organization’s fees are all-inclusive, covering everything from housing and meals to airfare. Students earn up to four credits and enjoy courses on Turkish or Armenian, history, sociology and political science. Additional courses are also available. To top it off, a weekend trip to Athens is included, as well as daytrips to Troy, Princes’ Islands and Edirne.
The University Studies Abroad Consortium) is accepting applications for Turkish study abroad during the entire 2017–18 academic year. You can even choose to stay in Istanbul both semesters, instead of just one. Students take courses at Bahçeşehir University and, in addition to the Turkish for Beginners course, can pick from classes in nearly all areas of study, including architecture, arts, sciences, communication, economics, engineering and law.
