After filling up, head just eight miles out of the downtown area to Blue Ridge for a hike, epic mountainscape, fresh air and beautiful views. Early-bird hikers will see where the name “blue” comes from as the horizon greets the sunrise over the Appalachian Mountain range in the distance.
Head back to town for some lunch and shopping at the many boutiques, farmers market vendors and antique shops. Fill up a basket at one of the many tailgate markets and have a picnic al fresco.
