Under $100 / North America

Wilmington, Vt., located in the state’s southern region, is the perfect, charming town for a weekend getaway. Aside from the obvious skiing in the winter season, we’ve compiled a list of things great to do in the area year-round.

Hiking

In the off-season there are many beautiful hiking trails to explore in this mountainous region. Should you choose to hike up the ski trails at Mount Snow, the ski lodge stays open to reward you with food and a nice cold beer once you reach the top. Consult this list of hiking trails to plan your trip. Hit up the ski lodge’s annual Oktoberfest for even more fun and games.

Fall is a beautiful time to take these trails because peak foliage season is absolutely beautiful. Enjoy views from the top of a lookout for the best way to see the changing of the leaves.

Farmers Markets

Looking for something unique and charming to bring home? Head to the Wilmington Antique and Flea Market for all sorts of finds. Vendors offer plenty of cool antiques, from vintage cameras to vintage skis, as well as handcrafted jewelry and delicious, homemade products.

Maple Producers

Want to check out how maple syrup is made? Wilmington has several maple producers you can check out to see how the delicious pancake topper is collected and made. Head to Adam’s Family Farm for maple and farm products alike.
