The Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival celebrates its 25th year in 2016. Held April 29–May 8, the festival blends island culture, eclectic music genres and famous performers. More than 50 artists will entertain guests during the 10-day festival.
Local and international musicians perform at the annual event. Some of the many performers include headliner Marc Anthony, George Benson, Kool and the Gang, Shaggy, Air Supply, Joey Alexander, Omi and Donald Harrison Jr. Performances take place at venues throughout the island, with the main stage shows at Pigeon Island National Park.
“This year’s festival commemorates 25 years of star-studded musical performances that have commanded world attention over the years,” said Lorne Theophilus, minister of tourism, St. Lucia Tourism Board. The St. Lucia Tourism Board presents the festival.
In addition to the musical performances, special art showcases take place throughout the island during the festival. An Arts Village on the northern part of the island will feature literary, visual and performing arts as well as a fashion show, Hot Couture, highlighting the style of St. Lucia.
