Montréal welcomes the summer season with an array of festivals and special events. Art, music and comedy — the city has something for everyone.
Montréal Digital Spring
Running now through June 21, this event features more than 150 installations, exhibits and electronic music performances. The second-annual event showcases the city’s bold and innovative digital arts scene.
Chromatic Festival
This program of audio, visual and interactive experiences will be held May 22–27 at the Chalet du mont Royal. The event concludes with a block party.
MURAL
The urban arts street festival acts as an open-air museum with graffiti, sculpture and multimedia installations. The festival takes place on Saint-Laurent Boulevard June 4–14.
Montréal Jazz Festival
In its 36th edition, the 10-day festival features more than 800 musical performances across multiple indoor and outdoor venues. Tickets are now available for purchase. The festival takes place June 26–July 5.
Just for Laughs Festival
Featuring some of the biggest names in comedy, the Just for Laughs Festival celebrates its 32nd year this summer. Festival passes are available for the July 8–28 event.
Montréal Cirque Festival
Circus artists from all over Canada and Europe perform at the zany circus spectacle. Individual tickets and festival passes are available. Watch acrobatic, avant garde and family shows July 2–12.

United Continues Its Global Expansion
United Airlines keeps soaring to new heights, recently announcing another expansion of its leading global route network. The airline added new non-stop flights between Newark (EWR) and Marrakesh (RAK), Morocco; Tokyo (NRT) and Cebu (CEB), Philippines; and Houston (IAH) and Medellin (MDE), Colombia. That’s not all: United also plans to increase flights to popular worldwide destinations including Hong Kong (HKG); Seoul (INC), South Korea; and Porto (OPO), Portugal. Following the recent agreement to increase flights between the U.S. and Chinese governments, the airline now adds four weekly flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to Shanghai (PVG).
