Spain is a famous destination for many reasons, and each year its Mediterranean coast receives hundreds of thousands of visitors.
Start in the metropolitan city of Barcelona, famous for its Gaudi architecture, top shopping and great museums. Three days is a good amount of time to see some of the city, and if you are lucky enough to visit during football season you could even catch a Barcelona match at the Camp Nou.
Head down the coast to Valencia for two days, a charming city with a buzzing food and art scene. The city has long been overshadowed by larger brother Barcelona, but it is slowly being recognized as a destination in its own right.
Keep moving south and take a quick trip inland to Granada for three days, home to the Moorish Alhambra and other archaeological sites. Next up is a three-day stay in the colonial city of Seville, famed for its architecture, flamenco dancing and tapas.
Now it’s time to head back to the sea at Cadiz, a quirky city situated on a spit on the southern coast. Take in some art and wander around the fort before topping off your trip with a day at one of the nearby beaches. If you squint hard enough you might even be able to spot Morocco across the Strait of Gibraltar.
