If you’re still stuck on pickleball, you’re stuck in the past. The latest and greatest game is padel — akin to pickleball, but on a smaller, walled court. The scoring systems are different, and the equipment is a little different, too, but you’ll be able to pick up padel quickly if you’ve ever played pickleball before (or even if you haven’t!).
Where can you go to actually play padel? Luxury resorts are adding padel courts to their offerings.

If you’re in Marrakech, check out The Oberoi, Marrakech’s new padel court, installed this spring. The court’s setting among the citrus and olive groves offset an experience filled with private coaching and state-of-the-art equipment.
In Marbella, Spain, Puente Romano Beach Resort offers not only multiple padel courts, but also an entire tennis club with a range of tennis courts, a gym, pro shop, restaurant, sauna, Turkish bath and more, frequently welcoming pros with its extensive facilities.
