Most people make the mistake of packing too much in their carry-on when getting on a plane. They overload their bags with things they think they’ll need, but really only end up creating more work for themselves and taking up space that could be used by someone else. Here are the five items you need, and nothing more, to enjoy your flight.
An iPad/Laptop
A iPad or laptop provides every form of entertainment you might need. Preload it with movies and music or work you want to get done, and keep yourself occupied for hours.
Headphones
A solid pair of headphones will serve two purposes: allowing you to listen to music and drowning out the chatter around you when you’re ready to sleep. Always have a pair on hand, as the ones the airlines provide are usually pretty flimsy.
Pillow
A pillow is an absolute necessity on a plane. Whether you prefer one from home or the kind that wraps around and supports your neck doesn’t matter; just make sure to have something you can rest on while you sleep.
Snack
Airplane food is grossly overpriced, so avoid paying the fees and pack your own snack. Make sure it’s something both tasty and filling so you’re not tempted to purchase something off the menu during your flight.
Toothbrush
This one only applies to the longer flights, but, let’s be honest, if you’re going over eight hours on a plane without brushing your teeth your neighbors will probably hate you.
