Marriott marked a big milestone in 2023 with the opening of its 500th luxury hotel, The St. Regis Riyadh. However, the Marriott portfolio continues to grow in 2024, with two dozen new luxury properties expected to open this year.

Don’t want to wait and prefer to book your next luxury Marriott stay sooner rather than later? Try one of these eight new Marriott hotels, all opened in the last year.

The Ritz-Carlton, Portland opened as the first Ritz-Carlton in the Pacific Northwest. Meanwhile, The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne opened as the tallest hotel in the entirety of Australia, at 80 stories.

In Edinburgh, the W brand opened its second United Kingdom property, W Edinburgh, also home to the brand’s signature suite containing a professional recording studio (it’s only the second W hotel in Europe to have one).

Several new EDITION properties opened in just the last two months, with The Singapore EDITION, The Riviera Maya EDITION and The Tokyo EDITION.

The first JW Marriott opened in Spain in 2023, with JW Marriott Madrid, and it entered the luxury safari lodge landscape with JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge.

Regarding the expansive 2023 openings and the many to come in 2024, Tina Edmundson, president of luxury, Marriott International, said, “The debut of The St. Regis Riyadh as our 500th luxury hotel stands as a momentous milestone for Marriott International, underscoring our mission to bring unparalleled access to the most exclusive destinations and farthest reaches of the world. Our luxury portfolio is complemented by truly exceptional guest experiences, allowing us to set the standard for the future of indulgent travel, while continuously innovating and blazing new trails.”
