Spring break may already be in your rearview mirror, and you might be looking forward to your summer vacay — but did you save enough cash after your springtime travel? A new study from Allianz Partners found Americans spent quite a bit more on their spring break trips this year than they did in 2024. The average spring break trip was $5,325 in 2025, more than a 10 percent increase from 2024.

The study also found spring break travelers mostly stayed stateside this year, with only about 21 percent of study participants leaving the country for spring break. Top domestic destinations included Florida, New York, Arizona, Nevada, California, Texas, Washington and Georgia. Top international destinations included Mexico, England, France, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Japan and Aruba.

“Even with rising costs, we continue to see Americans prioritizing leisure travel,” said Daniel Durazo, director of external communications, Allianz Partners USA. “We know that travelers are balancing a number of financial priorities so it’s more important than ever to safeguard upcoming travel. A travel insurance policy ensures that if covered travel cancellations and interruptions, travel delays and unexpected illness or injuries come up, your hard-earned dollars can be repurposed for another trip.”
