Austin is famous for many things: live music, festivals, BBQ, tacos. In Austin, diners take their tacos seriously. Try one of these spots for a taste of the city’s best tacos.
Tacodeli
The menu at Tacodeli highlights Tex Mex flavors. Choose from one of their creations or build your own taco. Prices start at $1.25 per taco. With five locations in Austin, the restaurant recently opened a storefront in Dallas.
Güero’s Taco Bar
Güero’s Taco Bar in South Austin features two separate indoor and outdoor dining spaces. The outdoor location feels more like a taco stand and hosts live music daily. Be sure to check out the salsa bar.
Joe’s Bakery & Coffee Shop
For breakfast tacos, Joe’s can’t be beat. In addition to the extensive taco menu (with tacos starting at $1.99), try one of the restaurant’s bakery treats.
Rosita’s Al Pastor
Rosita’s Al Pastor is famous for — you guessed it — tacos al pastor. They keep it simple with pork, cilantro and onion on a flour tortilla. Try one from the late-night food trailer for $1.75.
El Primo
This taco truck located in the South Austin area is a favorite among locals. Breakfast tacos are most popular, but with prices less than $2, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
