Findlay Market is a historic establishment in Cincinnati and the oldest public market in Ohio, opening its doors in 1855. With more than 40 indoor merchants, open year-round, and an outdoor farmer’s market April–November, there’s always something new to find. Try some of the community’s favorites below.
Taste of Belgium is a must-visit. Serving traditional Belgian recipes with a twist, you’ll love what you find at the rapidly growing company with two bistros and two market locations in Ohio. Beyond the varieties of traditional Belgian waffles, enjoy savory and sweet crepes, waffle and baguette sandwiches, pizza and pastries.
You probably wouldn’t expect to find authentic Vietnamese in southern Ohio, but Ph Lang Thang serves up just that. In addition to traditional pho, try the banh mi (Vietnamese baguette sandwiches), cha gio (egg rolls) or goi cuon (fresh spring rolls), among the other menu items.
Blue Oven Bakery is open at Findlay Market weekends only, and their goods go fast. Their offerings change with the seasons, depending on whatever’s available at the family farm. Try out the operation’s Toast Bar, where you can enjoy the highly praised bakery breads with a variety of homemade, local toppings and spreads, either savory or sweet.
Of course, you can always try a bit of everything when enjoying a free market tour, available twice monthly and more during the holiday season. Group tours are by request, but the complimentary tours begin each second and fourth Saturday of the month at 10 a.m. Each tour covers the market’s history, current events and future. You can also upgrade to a 90-minute guided tour with tastings at five merchants and a choice from a selection of wines and beers.
