It’s easier than ever to book a budget-friendly trip without spending hours scouring the internet. Great deals and rewards are everywhere — you just need to know how and where to find them. Here are some of the top travel websites for finding and book budget vacations.
Launched in 2009, Jetsetter offers discount “flash sales” on high-end properties, hand-selected by the Jetsetter team. The travel website has 2.2 million members and 20–40 sales per week at prices up to 50 percent off.
For last-minute travel bookers, Airfarewatchdog.com is the way to go. The website pulls last-minute flight deals and books for you. The site’s fare listings and alerts — including airline promo codes and unadvertised fares — are found and verified before you book. The best part is fares come directly to your inbox or via real-time tweet.
Known as the eBay of travel, Luxury Link offers auctions on luxury hotels, with extras included. Like with eBay, there’s a “buy now” option that lets you book instantly at a discounted rate.
The popular Budgetplaces.com recently launched in the United States and is generating buzz among budget travelers. The site consolidates the world’s cheaper hotels, hostels and apartments onto one site, offering special deals and guest reviews.
You’ve seen the commercials. Kayak scours the web to find deals on flights, hotel rooms and rental cars and presents it all under one roof. One of the website’s great features is its pricing trends and predictive algorithms on where prices are going. Kayak will also send travel alerts via email when deals pop up for your intended destination.
Have you heard of it? Airbnb is still among the most competitive accommodation options when it comes to price, as long as you’re okay with sacrificing the hotel experience. The numbers of Airbnb listings are constantly growing, as is the variety of accommodation options available.
