Products / Technology

Choosing the right fitness watch can factor in a wide variety of aspects. Whether looking for high-impact technology or something sleek and stylish, there is a fitness watch on the market for you. We broke down the top fitness watches by price, athleticism and aesthetics.

Trendy

The Apple Watch has a bit of style and function, but leans more toward the side of productivity. The third-generation Apple Watch is waterproof, has a heart rate sensor, built-in GPS, activity tracker and acts as a substitute phone for on-the-go athletes. Prices vary as each watch can be customized, but begins at $330 each.

High-Impact Workouts

Fitbit has been synonymous with tracking activity since the technology came on the market, but the company’s Ionic smart watch is the brand’s best yet. Track your activity; sleep patterns and heart rate with impressive accuracy. Take advantage of the improved GPS tracking on solo adventures, or stay motivated with guided workouts. The Fitbit Ionic is completely waterproof for swimmers and has nearly all of the functions of a regular smartphone, including apps, ways to pay and smartphone notifications. Beginning at $270, this watch offers more bang for your buck.

Fitness, Function and Budget-Friendly

For both function and fashion, the vívoactive 3 smartwatch by Garmin is a top option for active individuals. The vivoactive 3 offers has a large color screen with smartphone alerts, apps and activity tracking, as well as an analog watch face screen for day to day. Being a Garmin, the built-in GPS offers impressive running routes and maintains a one-week battery life between charges.

Most Affordable

For no nonsense, no distractions and pure fitness purposes, the Fitbit Flex 2 is a great budget tracker. Beginning at $60, the Fitbit Flex 2 is great for swimming, running, walking and hiking — all completely distraction free. The Fitbit Flex 2 doesn’t have a screen and all activity can be tracked on the smartphone app from steps and calories to distance and pace.
