The St. Regis Cap Cana Resort recently announced the launch of St. Regis Cap Cana Rum, an exclusive, private-label collaboration with Ron Matusalem, the historic rum house with more than 150 years of expertise in the art of rum-making.
“Two years in the making, St. Regis Cap Cana Rum is our first spirits collaboration, and we knew it would have to be with a name as storied as Ron Matusalem,” said Laura Santoni, general manager, The St. Regis Cap Cana Resort. “Craftsmanship and a sense of place have defined this resort since we opened, and this rum is the clearest expression of that yet, and one we are proud to share with our guests starting this summer.”
Drawing on the aging techniques Matusalem has refined over five generations, this limited release of just 200 individually numbered bottles patiently matured in the house’s cellars as a carefully curated blend of American oak ex-Bourbon and French oak ex-Cognac casks. The result brings depth, balance and elegance, with notes of vanilla, coconut and caramel from the bourbon casks; figs and raisins from the cognac casks; and layers of peach, apricot, cinnamon and nutmeg.
“For Ron Matusalem, this collaboration is an opportunity to express our century-old know-how through a creation that could only belong to this destination,” said Yoze Torres, Global CEO, Ron Matusalem. “From the selection of casks to the final presentation, St. Regis Cap Cana Rum reflects the craftsmanship, patience and family legacy behind our house.”
Each hand-crafted, crystal bottle evokes a treasure shaped by time and sea. The sculptural crystal decanter boasts gold-ink detailing, housed in a hand-crafted gift box made from a sustainable composite of Bordeaux Forest wood powder and cornstarch.
To celebrate this special collaboration, the limited-time offering will include a dedicated tasting experience, a Quisqueya Mary workshop at The St. Regis Bar and a launch ceremony in The Amber Room. St. Regis Cap Cana Rum can also be enjoyed at the resort’s multiple dining outlets and will be available for purchase.
