The annual Philadelphia Flower Show is the nation’s largest and longest-running indoor flower show, dating back to 1829. The event draws hundreds of thousands of visitors to the City of Brotherly Love each year. This year marks the 189th annual show run by the Philadelphia Horticultural Society.
The Philadelphia Convention Center is decked out with elaborate floral displays of every shape and size. Each year the show chooses a new theme. The 2018 theme is Wonders of Water and will feature fountains, ponds, a waterfall, flowers in ice sculptures and other displays to highlight water. The theme is also intended to raise awareness on water conservation and will feature talks and demonstrations by scientists and industry experts. In addition to the displays, special events take place during the show including early morning tours, photography tours and a Flowers After Hours party. These events come at an additional cost.
This year, the show runs March 3–11. Advance tickets are available for purchase until March 2 for $29.95 for adults. Ticket prices during the show week range $32–40. Special passes including family packs are also available.
