Trends / Unique Itineraries & Tours

West Africa has numerous national parks, each filled with its own unique wildlife and fauna. Some of the best parks are still untouched by booming tourism. Either way, these parks are a dream for travelers searching for adventure.

Mole National Park is everyone’s untouched African park paradise. Located in the northwest, it is Ghana’s largest wildlife refuge. There’s plenty of wildlife, like elephants, wandering through the reserve. The park does not have much development as the last human population was relocated in 1971. The park has not transformed to be tourist friendly, so it feels like a true wild area. The lure of this park is it is not like the safari adventures found in parks built for tourists. This park has been well preserved and is a dream for those looking to capture the wild side of Africa.

Situated in the southwestern region of the Ivory Coast is Taï National Park. This is a special park as it is one of the last areas of primary rainforest in West Africa. Due to its diverse flora and fauna, it was made a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1982. The park is filled with lively animals, including 11 species of monkey and breathtaking greenery. The park isn’t one traveled to often, so it’s not the easiest to reach, but it’s rewarding.

West Africa’s national parks are for the most part undiscovered by popular travelers. Skip the well-known parks for these hidden gems and the experience will surely be memorable.
