Australia is famously referred to as the Land Down Under with a lot of exotic animals roaming the country. Melbourne is one of the most well-known cities and is the second-largest city in Australia. The city has beautiful architecture, a diverse population and a variety of activity options to offer, making it a much-desired study abroad location.

Melbourne is a safe, modern and vibrant city, which makes it so appealing to potential students. According to QS TopUniversities, Melbourne is the third-best city for students studying abroad, and is home to one of the most diverse student communities. Melbourne has a lot of attractions to visit and can be appealing to English-speaking students who wish not to experience too much of a language barrier.

Some of the most appealing sites to visit include the Royal Botanical Gardens Victoria, the SEA LIFE Museum, Melbourne Zoo, Yarra River for a picnic, and the Queen Victoria Market, just to name a few. You can also head to the beach for a swim, plus the city has an active nightlife. There are also a variety of events yearly that appeal to students with varied interests.

Students are exposed to the Australian culture and can be a hub for history lovers. They may further delve into learning about the Aboriginals and the Torres Strait Islander people who have some of the oldest cultures in the world. It is also appealing to architecture lovers because the city has architecturally pleasing buildings, such as Crown Towers, Federation Square and National Gallery of Victoria. These structures could serve as great motivations.

Head to Melbourne to meet new people, travel new places and try new things with some friends or by yourself. Be sure to note the cost of living is high, but it pays off in the end. You just might be presented with great career opportunities following your time studying abroad.
