Country music lovers will probably have a chance run-in with a superstar like Tim McGraw, but there is plenty of shopping and tourism for visitors of all music backgrounds.
For breakfast, no trip to Nashville is complete without a visit to the Pancake Pantry. There’s always a line to get in, but you never know which superstar you might see there.
A day in Music City isn’t complete without a trip to the Grand Ole Opry, the top attraction. Known as “country’s most famous stage,” the Opry provides world-famous entertainment for all ages. Tours are available, as well as behind-the-scenes looks into new and old country history. Country music buffs would also enjoy the Country Music Hall of Fame, which offers special exhibits with tributes to country legends.
Spend the day walking around Broadway for honky-tonk bars, shops and more. Grab a bite to eat at The Bluebird Café, open since 1982. Located in a strip mall, the café is a haven for aspiring songwriters. It was at an open mic night back in the 80s when an unknown artist named Garth Brooks first heard The Dance. The Bluebird still offers original music seven nights a week.
As you get hungry later in the day, stop by Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge. This historic honky tonk remained through the decades. The list of regular customers includes Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson and more. Tootsie’s stages still brings out the very best performers.
