Having been to Adventure Aquarium in Camden, N.J., several times before, I was pleasantly surprised by some of the new additions and upgrades to the space. One thing was the same, however — the cafeteria area was packed. It is safe to assume we all had the same idea to duck out of the Philadelphia humidity and into an air-conditioned space.
The new and improved shark exhibit was clearly the biggest draw to the aquarium. Shark Bridge is a mesh bridge over the shark tank for guests to walk over and see inside the tank at the sharks below. There were so many children already on the walk, we never found an opening to check it out, but it was definitely a new part of the exhibit I hadn’t seen before.
After the well populated Shark Bridge visit, we made our way into Hippo Haven and then to the penguin exhibit. Since the penguins are kept outside, there were practically no other visitors and we lasted long enough to watch them swim before heading right back inside.
Overall, the trip was a nice excuse to trek over the river and out of the humidity for an indoor activity.
