There’s a lot to like about Aion as a company: Their mission involves working with craftspeople who are paid a fair wage, so there are no sweatshops involved.
But the company seems disorganized, and their clothing can leave a lot to be desired. The site has spelling errors. There’s no sizing chart. And some of the items — apparently the entire spring line — is unisex, so petite women who don’t want to be swallowed up by their clothing are going to have a hard time finding something that works.
Hats off to Aion for trying, but there’s definitely work to be done here. They offer a disclaimer that items may have some degree of inconsistency because they’re all handcrafted, and that’s fine. In fact, if everything else is great about the clothing and the company, these minor discrepancies can actually add an element of uniqueness and endearment.
But a recent order showed up with an apparent blue-ink stain and with no warning about the unisex sizing, which is definitely something to mention to would-be buyers. If you’re hoping to support the company’s mission, best to stick with their beanies and hats, the purchasing of which is less likely to be complicated by the aforementioned issues.
