Aspen Snowmass, part of Aspen One, has officially broken ground on a new $80 million project of on-mountain improvement projects, including two new high-speed chairlifts, a complete reconstruction of an on-mountain restaurant and more. These new upgrades are part of an effort by Aspen One to upgrade on-mountain infrastructure in the coming years to remain one of North America’s premier mountain resort destinations.

“We have a huge summer ahead for on-mountain developments here at Aspen Snowmass,” said Geoff Buchheister, CEO, Aspen Skiing Company. “These projects represent Aspen One’s commitment to ongoing investment in delivering the most exceptional guest experience possible. They support the continued longevity of our business and our legacy of delivering world-class adventures. I’d like to extend my gratitude to our dedicated teams and partners for their hard work and collaboration to see these projects through to completion.”

Chairlift Upgrades

  • New Elk Camp 6-Pack Lift: The current Elk Camp quad chair will be replaced by a new state-of-the-art, high-speed lift to reduce ski season wait times and efficiently upload more bikes to Snowmass Bike Park in the summer. The lift also will help Snowmass Bike Park operations, doubling the amount of bikes lifted.
  • New Cirque T-Bar: The new T-Bar lift will replace the existing platter lift and help reduce wait times at one of the highest lifts in North America. T-Bar services some of Snowmass’ best extreme, high alpine terrain. The upgrade is set to double the capacity of the lift, going from a single-rider to double-rider capacity.

Major On-Mountain Dining Upgrades

Ullrhof, the popular mid-mountain restaurant on Snowmass, will also receive a complete rebuild with the hopes of reopening for the 2026/2027 winter season. The 56-year-old building will be demolished and completely transformed into a brand-new, state-of-the-art building with a modern mountain design that also celebrates its storied history. The upgrade will allow for more diners. The final result will be an expanded upstairs bar and lounge, and updated menu.

Snowmaking Upgrades

Aspen Snowmass will also improve its snowmaking infrastructure across all properties to help ensure top-quality snow coverage when the weather isn’t ideal. Upgrades include investments into automation and new technology to help make snowmaking more efficient.
