Weddings / Honeymoons

Whether you’re looking to enjoy or escape the crisp fall weather, you can’t go wrong with any of these destinations for a romantic autumnal honeymoon.

Napa Valley, Calif.

This is the perfect honeymoon destination for wine-lovers any time of year. However, when you choose to visit in the fall, you will be able to partake in fall festivities including the Yountville Festival of Lights and grape stomping at the Grgich Estate. Autumn also marks the end of the harvest season for most wineries, which ensures a quieter getaway for couples.

Breathtaking fall foliage is visible all over the United States, but nothing compares to the vibrant pops of color covering nearly three-quarters of Vermont. Outdoorsy couples will love hiking, fishing or snuggling by the campfire. Although, a stay in Manchester offers couples a cozy retreat at one of many small inns, with a variety of shopping opportunities.

ABC Islands

These islands are below the hurricane belt and out of harm’s way during hurricane season. Whether you are looking to explore coral reefs while snorkeling or spread out on the beach, you can’t go wrong with any of these islands.

October is one of the best months to visit Fiji. The Sun is not directly overhead at this time, and the ocean temperatures are much warmer than the typical summer season from June to August. The wet season doesn’t begin until late November, but rain is to be expected here any time of year.

From September to November, it’s springtime in Australia. There is so much to see in Australia anytime of year, but the flower festivals during this time of year are definitely not to be missed. If you’re staying in the southern regions, it’s still a little chilly to hop in the water, but the Great Barrier Reef and coast of Queensland are not highly affected.

Lantern Festivals

Lantern festivals are sweeping the nation. Lanterns originated in China, but made their way across the world. Lantern lights are mesmerizing when they light up the night sky. I always think of the scene in the Disney movie Tangled, where the whole town sends lanterns up to the sky in honor of the missing princess and the entire sky is covered with lanterns. Travel around the world to see the best lantern festivals.
