Yasnaya Polyana
Located a few hour’s drive from Moscow, Yasnaya Polyana was Leo Tolstoy’s place of birth and where he wrote Anna Karenina and War and Peace. The home has a rich history and was even occupied by Nazis in World War II. The house is now a museum featuring artwork, furniture, personal items, photographs and more.
Gogol House
In Moscow, Gogol House is the setting of the last four years of Nikolai Gogol’s life. The estate has a history spanning more than three centuries and now acts as a museum celebrating the works of this literary figure.
Nabokov House
Saint Petersburg is home to Nabokov House, where Vladimir Nabokov, author of the renowned Lolita, was born at the turn of the century. The dining room and library have been recreated to reflect their original state, and guests will find many of Nabokov’s personal effects on display. Look out for his butterfly collection and travel Scrabble set.
Chekhov Library
Checkhov Library is the oldest library in South Russia, created in 1876, and now named after Anton Chekhov, one of the library’s first patrons. The Russian playwright and author is considered one of the world’s finest short story writers, often compared to Henrik Ibsen. The library contains a small museum dedicated to his memory.

United Continues Its Global Expansion
United Airlines keeps soaring to new heights, recently announcing another expansion of its leading global route network. The airline added new non-stop flights between Newark (EWR) and Marrakesh (RAK), Morocco; Tokyo (NRT) and Cebu (CEB), Philippines; and Houston (IAH) and Medellin (MDE), Colombia. That’s not all: United also plans to increase flights to popular worldwide destinations including Hong Kong (HKG); Seoul (INC), South Korea; and Porto (OPO), Portugal. Following the recent agreement to increase flights between the U.S. and Chinese governments, the airline now adds four weekly flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to Shanghai (PVG).
