The Rocky Mountains contain some of the most gorgeous views our country has to offer, and it just so happens many of them are found in Colorado. Next time you’re in that beautiful state here are a few hikes in the Rockies you shouldn’t pass up.
Garden of the Gods Loop
The great thing about the Garden of the Gods Loop is that it sits just outside of Colorado Springs and is accessible to everyone. The route is simple enough for even beginner hikers and the Gardens of the Gods is simply breathtaking. Hike this one at sunset if you can.

Herman Gulch
Herman Gulch can get pretty packed since it’s located just off of I-70, but walk a little way and you’ll find the sounds of the highway disappear in favor of bustling streams and birds. The lake here is stunning to see, especially during the spring.
Dome Rock Loop
One of the most spectacular things about Colorado is all the great rock formations, and the ones found on Dome Rock Loop are easily some of the best. It’s also near Colorado Springs and takes about half a day to do the full trail, but it’s worth the effort.
Longs Peak in Boulder County
This is probably Colorado’s most popular and epic hike, but it’s not for the faint of heart. You won’t be just walking your way to the top, you’ll also have to climb a bit, too. Once you reach the top, the, the views are simply out of this world.
