Best U.S. Beaches to Visit in Winter

Just because the cold weather is pouring in doesn’t mean you have to forgo trips to the beach. There are plenty of great spots around the United States that stay warm all year long. Here are the best U.S. beaches to visit this winter.

Coronado Beach, San Diego

America’s Greatest City is housed right next to one of its greatest beaches. Coronado Beach is located on the tiny Coronado Island just off the mainland from San Diego. It’s home to some pretty spectacular sand, gorgeous (and expensive!) mansions and an ice skating rink right along the sand in winter.

Miami Beach

The home of many a spring breakers’ wildest week, Miami Beach remains pretty pristine all throughout the year. It’s right in one of the most exciting cities on Earth and offers up some great water sport opportunities. The Atlantic waters are a little cool at this time, but slip on a wet suit and you’ll be fine.

Hanalei Bay, Hawai’i

Hanalei Bay is one of the best-kept secrets in Hawai’i and a great option for a winter getaway. The sands here are mostly clear and there are great rafting opportunities to explore the surrounding sea caves.

Rincon, Puerto Rico

Rincon is a bit of a plane ride, but so worth the trip. It holds some of the best surfing opportunities in the United States and the weather here is hot pretty much all year long, so you’re guaranteed to get a tan. It’s also a great spot for snorkeling and diving and not very expensive.
