Tips / Travel

We all want to update our friends and family when traveling, if nothing else just to let them make sure we didn’t fall off a pyramid or get eaten by a tiger. Sometimes it’s difficult when traveling to remote places. Here are some ways to keep them in the loop.

Skype

You don’t necessarily have to use Skype, but some form of face-to-face app is crucial to keeping in touch with loved ones. After spending weeks overseas, you’ll eventually find yourself craving a familiar face.

Phone

Most cell carriers these days offer overseas calling for a nominal fee, or you can buy a prepaid card or SIM once you get where you’re going. This way you’ll be able to catch up no matter where you are.

Email

Group emails are a great way to take care of everyone at once. Instead of calling all your friends just update them all at once through email or group Facebook messages.

Postcard

We might be in the digital age, but nothing beats a good old-fashioned postcard when it comes to keeping in touch while traveling. It’s a great memento and sometimes it feels good to just sit down and write out your feelings.
