Casablanca Suites, Rincon de Guayabitos

The beach town of Guayabitos is more family-oriented than neighboring Sayulita and Puerto Vallarta, and Casablanca is a great place to relax.

Rooms are large and bright, with great balconies looking over the pool and the beach. Suites have kitchen facilities where you can cook your own food, and there are big common areas to relax.

The whole place is clean and the staff is friendly. Breakfast buffet is included in the room rate and you can choose from hot food, fruit and yogurt. There really is something for everyone and it’s the best way to set yourself up for a long day.

There is a swim-up bar in the pool and the drinks are fairly cheap, although you can always buy beers from the supermarket and keep them in your room if you want to save money. It doesn’t seem to be frowned upon to drink your own booze around the pool either.

Guayabitos is laidback and you might struggle to find a restaurant open after 9 p.m. Most people prepare food from the supermarket, and there are few bars around.

If you want to hide out for a few days it’s a great place to be, but don’t come here expecting to party.
