Cayo Espanto, a private island resort 3 miles off the coast of Belize, recently completed phase one of its property-wide refurbishment. Each of the resort’s seven villas now boast modern fixtures, unique architectural elements and other expanded features.
Tropical wooden design fuses with Moroccan finishings, or Tadelakt, to enhance villa architecture. Tadelakt provides a water-resistance surfacing with a high-end look. All showers, sinks and bathrooms now boast a modern and airy coastal setting, and new lighting fixtures complete the indoor-outdoor living concept of the villas.
“We are thrilled to welcome travelers who have stayed with us and those who will be experiencing the private island resort for the first time to enjoy the new interior composition that blends classic sophistication with our signature barefoot luxury,” said David Benzaquen, general manager, Cayo Espanto. “A core principle for our resort and team has always been to create a personalized and elevated stay that exceeds expectations. Reimaging the accommodations with contemporary one-of-a-kind design elements is a natural next step in continuing to achieve this goal.”
Several villas now have expanded features, including:
- Casa Aurora with an enlarged dock and living space
- Casa Brisa and Casa Manana with all-glass shower concepts and fenced-in gardens
- Casa Solana with an extended roof
- Casa Ventanas with new glass shower walls
- Casa Brisa with an expanded dock and larger gym
Future enhancements include furnishings.
