Ever see a product that, at first glance, you think is completely unnecessary, and then once you actually start to think about it, you realize maybe that product is exactly what you need in your life? The PoolCandy Chill-O-Matic is exactly that product.
So, cheesy name aside, what is it and what can it do for you this summer?
Essentially a cylinder filled with ice, PoolCandy claims the Chill-O-Matic can chill any 12-ounce soda or beer 240 times faster than the refrigerator, in about 60 seconds — which means, if you absolutely must chill your drinks quickly, before heading to the beach or while sitting by the pool, you don’t have to put them in the freezer and risk an explosion.
PoolCandy further says you’ll only need to fill the Chill-O-Matic with about a standard Ziplock-sized bag of ice (the size of the Ziplock bag is not specified) and then, from there, the device can chill up to 12 12-ounce cans. Just fill the device with ice, add your drink and the Chill-O-Matic does its thing.
Amazon reviews report the Chill-O-Matic is nothing fancy, but that it works exactly as intended, cooling your drinks fast — even surprisingly fast. Find it here on Amazon.
The portable device works on two AA batteries and starts at $29.99.
