A new kind of destination wedding to consider when you’re just beginning your planning process is a cruise ship wedding. Unique and gaining popularity, cruise ship weddings can be customized to fit your needs and style. They can also sometimes be more affordable not only for you, but for your guests. Often cruise lines already have all of the staff you would need to host a wedding onboard, from musicians and waitstaff to makeup artists and an officiant. In addition to getting married onboard the ship in one of its venues, you can also choose to get married during one of the port days, if you want to combine the cruising experience with a beach wedding.

Carnival offers a few tips and tricks to employ before setting your cruise ship wedding in stone. If you’ve never been on a cruise, you may want to give it a try beforehand, just to make sure it’s an experience you enjoy. Ask your friends and family who would be willing to attend; keep in mind many cruise lines offer group discounts. Reach out to the cruise line you’re considering to speak with the wedding planner. They’ll be able to talk to you about available venues and all they offer; just to be sure you like what you’re getting before you commit.
