Whether you’re flying for one hour or across an ocean, air travel can be a high-anxiety experience. Even the most frequent travelers suffer from a case of flight fear every now and then. Thankfully, a new app entered the market promising to assuage your fears and help you have a calm and relaxing flight.
SOAR is a mobile app for iOS and Android developed by the organization of the same name that offers courses and trainings to overcome the fear of flying. The goal of the app is to make the flying experience more enjoyable by removing fear, panic and anxiety from your emotional state.
A menu helps you learn more about the emotions you are experiencing and provides ample information about the safety of your aircraft. The app also includes a step-by-step preparation guide that walks you through each stage of air travel, from waiting at your gate in the airport to boarding your airplane.
SOAR features a forum for members where you can air your anxious thoughts with fellow travelers and even help others with tips you have learned along the way. Before you fly, download SOAR’s helpful videos wherein flight staff, engineers and pilots provide more information about the safety of air travel and what you can expect during your flight. Some of the videos also teach you about anxiety, its causes, its physical manifestations and how you can overcome it from your airplane seat.
Know what to expect during your flight with SOAR’s flight forecast consisting of weather and turbulence meters. Although there is not much passengers can control during a flight, SOAR steps in to help making flying more pleasurable.
