As technology advances and inventions surface every day, travel is continuously taken to new heights, thanks in large part to the drone. The selfie stick has been replaced by flying contraptions that can take video and photos from high above, capturing the entire landscape and, maybe more importantly, you in that landscape. Some drone models have been difficult to break down and pack into the smallest style luggage, but DJI developed a new drone that can be folded and fit into pockets, making it the ideal companion for techie travelers.

DJI’s new Mavic Air drone only weighs about 430 grams, or approximately 0.9 pounds, and when the arms and legs are folded into the body, the drone compares to larger models of modern-day smartphones in terms of length and width.

The Mavic Air can capture still photos at 12 megapixels and, while in motion, the drone films regular-speed action as well as slow-motion shots at 120 frames per second. With an in-flight duration of up to 21 minutes, the Mavic Air has a range of 2.5 miles and maximum speed of 42.5 mph.

The Mavic Air drone comes with 8 GB of internal storage, the files of which can be uploaded to other devices via a 3.0 Type-C USB port. Pre-orders are available for $799, about the average price for a medium-sized and -capacity drone.
