Destination

Wisconsin might make you think of cheese, but a trip to Door County will delight you with the region’s wine, cider and beer scene.

Island Orchard Cider

Bob and Yannique Purman started making hand-crafted ciders on Washington Island with a few apple trees. After a visit to the Pays D’Auge region of Normandy, they decided to bring back the taste of French cider, which is much more dry and subtle compared to the resurging popularity of sweet American ciders.

Door County Brewing Company

John McMahon and his two sons Danny (head brewer) and Ben (taproom manager) founded this family-owned business. Inspired by their beautiful surroundings, Door County produces a variety of craft beers ranging from the Little Sister Witbier made with Belgian Pilsner malt and wheat, to the Silurian Stout, a creamy milk stout made with chocolate, lactose sugar and a hint of coffee.

Orchard Country Winery & Market

The Lautenbachs have been selling cherries since 1955 on a roadside stand. They have since expanded to a variety of fruit products that are on sale at Orchard Country Winery & Market. Today their 100 acres are also planted with grapes, raspberries and pears, and they bottle several types of wines as well.
