Tips / Travel

Whether you’re doing an epic road trip across the States or you’re packing up and moving your life, there are a few things you need to make the trip work. Keep these items and ideas in mind before you hit the road.

Playlist

The music playlist is an essential part of any road trip. Not any music will do. Dreary, depressing songs are out of the question. The goal is to keep yourself awake and upbeat, so stick with pop, rock and maybe a little country.

Spare Tire

This probably goes without saying, but never attempt to drive cross-country without a spare tire or two. There’s a good chance you’ll run over a nail or piece of glass and find yourself with a flat no matter how shiny and new your tires might be.

Lots of snacks

You don’t want to have to stop every few miles to pick up more chips, so it’s important to pack an eclectic assortment of goodies before you go. The trip is going to take days and gas stations are notorious for overcharging for Doritos. Put together your pack ahead of time with a healthy mix of junk and healthy foods that’ll give you energy.

Friends

Seriously, don’t try and make the trip alone! It’s always more fun and memorable with a friend or two along for the ride. They can fly back afterward if they need to. Plus, you can trade off driving so you won’t worry about falling asleep at the wheel.
