Destinations / Latin America

Embark on an adventurous 11-day journey exploring two of Ecuador’s most iconic regions, the Galapagos Islands and the Amazon rain forest. Explore Isabela Island and Santa Cruz Island, as well as take a yacht trip to other nearby islands.

Throughout the journey, Scalesia Galapagos Lodge and Finch Bay Hotel serve as a comfortable homebase. The trip starts in the highlands of Isabela where travelers will explore the Giant Tortoise Reserve and Charles Darwin Research Station. Next, head to Ecuador’s Amazon rain forest. On the final part on the trip, head from Sacha Lodge and journey into the jungle on a guided tour to discover birds, reptiles, different species of monkeys and a variety of other wildlife.

The Darwin & Orellana Discovery Tour includes:

  • Three nights at Scalesia Lodge on Isabela Island
  • Three nights at Finch Bay Hotel on Santa Cruz Island
  • One night at Quito Airport Hotel
  • Three nights at Sacha Lodge in Ecuador’s Amazon rain forest

Since the hotels play a big part in the journey, here’s what to expect from your stays:

Situated on the highlands of Isabela Island, Scalesia Lodge is a luxurious, safari-style tent resort offering stunning views of the coast of Isabela Island, the Pacific Ocean and more. The award-winning Finch Bay Hotel is located on Santa Cruz Island and serves as an ideal base for exploring Tortuga Bay beach and other nearby islands. The hotel also helps lessen travelers’ eco-footprints by implementing the best practices in sustainable tourism. Sacha Lodge offers a safe stay in the Ecuadorian Amazon rain forest. Highlights include rain forest walks, canoeing on the nearby lake, exploring the butterfly house and more.
