InterContinental Hotels Group’s newer brand EVEN is ideal for travelers with health goals. The hotels make it easy to stay on track with state-of-the-art fitness centers, complete with personal training equipment and fitness videos. Find EVEN Hotels in five locations in New York, including Brooklyn; Norwalk, Conn.; Rockville, Md.; and Omaha, Neb.
Starwood’s Westin brand developed a signature wellness program in partnership with New Balance. The hotel brand offers a Gear Lending Program that provides workout shoes and outfit rentals, delivered right to your room. Note: All clothing is washed after use, insoles in sneakers are replaced and you keep the socks. Westin also has its own Run Concierge who can recommend running routes around the hotel; a 24/7 fitness studio; and FitStar Premium, an app-based guide with video workouts.
High-end fitness facility Equinox will venture into the hospitality sector in 2019 with a series of hotel brands targeting the same clientele that frequents its health and wellness facilities. The first to open will be in New York’s Hudson Yards district. Membership is not required, though guests who are members will be entitled to certain perks.
The trendy Standard Hotel chain helps guests stay in shape with its Peloton bikes at several properties across the country. The stationary bikes have personal screens for streaming spin classes from an on-demand library. Currently, the bikes are available at The Standard Spa in Miami, The Standard in Downtown Los Angeles and The Standard, High Line in New York.
The hotel giant has its own fair share of notable fitness-focused properties, like New York Hilton Midtown, which features a fitness center with sprawling skylights and views overlooking Manhattan’s Sixth Avenue. Through the hotel’s partnership with on-demand wellness app PRIV, guests can book fitness instructors directly to their room. Hilton Chicago, Hilton Orlando and Hilton West Palm Beach also offer impressive fitness centers with an abundance of natural light, great equipment and room for group classes.
