Architect Paolo Soleri first broke ground for Arcosanti in the 1970s, envisioning his urban laboratory as a model for future societies. His work is the practice of “arcology,” a portmanteau of architecture and ecology he coined himself, experimenting with urban planning in a way that promotes community and sustainability.
The experimental town is open to visitors and has workshops year-round, but every spring the normally idyllic town throws a party like no other. FORM Arcosanti was created four years ago to promote the community and create a culture of transformation. It’s also intimate, hosting just 1,500 people in its beautiful location 65 miles north of Phoenix. Guests enjoy three days of music, yoga, stargazing and a variety of workshops and panels on technology, environmentalism and social action. The organizers even partnered with Planned Parenthood for its first festival-based action.
The Phoenix Art Museum will contribute art installations and there will also be several film and documentary screenings like Chasing Coral and Who’s Streets? Notable performers include Solange Knowles, James Blake, Skrillex, Thundercat, Tycho and more.

United Continues Its Global Expansion
United Airlines keeps soaring to new heights, recently announcing another expansion of its leading global route network.
