Games To Play from Your Childhood

Tips / Travel

In terms of games, growing up is almost universally a bad idea. One day you’re satisfied with kicking a rock down the street, the next you’re too cool, tired or lazy to do anything but stare at a screen all day. Thankfully as we grow older, we realize that — what the heck — we really enjoyed those childhood games. Here are a few that are fun again now that you’re an adult.

Kickball

Adults love kickball so much they form leagues and pay money to play it. And with good reason. Kickball is a blast as an adult, and it’s the closest thing many of us who lack coordination can come to playing a real sport.

Wiffleball/bocce/croquet/any lawn game

With the popularity of cornhole, Polish horseshoes and any number of other quasi-legitimate adult games, lawn games have come back with a vengeance. Don’t overlook these various games/sports. Try playing wiffleball while not spilling your beverage. That’s an adult game right there.

Twister

Odds are when you were a kid you didn’t realize how adult this game could become and how fast. Well, now you’re an adult. Celebrate it.

Truth or Dare

Speaking of, Truth or Dare takes on a whole new aspect when you’re playing with adults. Truths get darker. Dares get more interesting. Do you think you could handle it? Alternatively, Spin the Bottle was like childhood’s Tinder. Let it be again.

Water fights

Or really anything involving water. Rope swings. Tubing. Slip ‘n slides. You’re mature enough now to know you’re not really mature enough to not enjoy playing in the water. And really, would you ever want to be?

And remember: Adding adult beverages to any children’s game makes it a legitimate adult game. Now get out there and enjoy.
