Getting Your Dog Some Exercise Through Wagwalking

Sometimes being a proud dog parent and a frequent traveler is a difficult lifestyle to balance. With someone always waiting for you at home, with the frequent need to be walked, fed and played with, it’s not as easy as just buying the ticket and getting on the plane with whatever happens to be left over in your luggage from your last trip.

Wagwalking can assist busy pet parents with everything they need to make sure their pooch is properly taken care of, no matter when, where or how short your notice. Dog owners are connected with caretakers nearby who can offer walking, sitting and boarding at the drop of a hat.

The app is outfitted with a map showing walkers, sitters and boarders near you. After the hiring process, however, the app still offers even more features to stay on top of your pet’s care. A live GPS tracks your dog’s walk in real-time. Then, owners receive a walker- or sitter-generated report card after every interaction, letting you know how long the walk was in both time and miles, as well as your pet’s behavior during. For boarding, the app allows for pick-up and drop-off requests, and also sends photo updates of your pet during their stay.

The service is on-demand and can get you whatever pet-care help you need within 30 minutes of a request, though it’s recommended you give early and late-night walkers some advance notice. However, you’ll find walk-only availability as early as 6 a.m. and as late as 11 p.m.

Each sitter and walker receives a thorough background check and hands-on assessment and is covered by premium pet insurance. They are also available for a meet-and-greet to ensure both you and your pet are comfortable with the individual you choose. Then, you can set up a recurring schedule, so you always work with the same walker or boarder.
