Reviews / Restaurant

In 1930, architect Alden Freeman constructed the Mediterranean style Villa Casa Casuarina. Jacques Amsterdam purchased the Villa after Freeman’s death, turning it into apartments. In 1992, fashion designer Gianni Versace acquired the Villa, transforming it into his South Beach home. Five years later, serial killer Andrew Cunanan murdered him on the front steps.

Since Versace, The Villa Casa Casuarina changed hands and renovated into a boutique hotel. It has, however, become known as the Versace Mansion. The Villa now houses Gianni’s, a harmonious mix of Mediterranean and Italian cuisine.

The ambiance of the Versace Mansion provides this restaurant with an unparalleled dining experience. Gianni’s at The Villa has a bar and outdoor courtyards to hang out in. When it’s time to eat, the Medusa Room is a work of art made of mosaic tiles. Outside, you can have a romantic dinner for two by the 54-foot pool made of imported glass and gold tile.

Gianni’s at The Villa has such a divine menu, you’ll be satisfied with every dish you order. The Spaghetti Alla Chitarra and the Dry Aged New York Strip are delicious. Seafood lovers, try the Grilled Maine Lobster. Be sure to make a reservation in advance.
