I’m not a prophet of the Doomsday any more than I’m claiming like Chicken Little that “the sky is falling.” That said, the planet is changing and the most popular safaris in Africa are under threat from poachers and the developing African economy that eats at the animals’ homes. Now, this won’t happen overnight, but why not head out on safari now? While Africa generally comes to mind when the word safari is bandied about, there exist a number of other safaris in the world, including tiger watching in India, polar bear safaris in Manitoba, Canada, to gorilla watching in Rwanda.
Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa are the most popular safari destinations in Africa, though Botswana is gaining traction with its limited visitors and off-the-beaten-path feel that it offers. You’ll enjoy yourself in any of these countries if you choose to safari there, but you will enjoy yourself considerably more if you book your trip with Micato, whose been doing this for more than 50 years and has won countless awards for its work.
India leads the way in tiger safaris in a number of parks, including Kanha National Park, Corbett National Park and others, with February, April and May the best months to visit. Tiger safaris can be dangerous so make sure you look for a respected company when booking.
Manitoba offers wonderful opportunities to see majestic polar bears before it is indeed too late. Once again, this is not something you’ll want to do on your own as polar bears are, well, bears.
