Hard Rock International expands its global portfolio with Hard Rock Hotel Maldives and Hard Rock Cafe Maldives, opening Oct. 1. The property is part of the Emboodhoo Lagoon project, the Maldives’ first integrated resort destination.
Located within one of the largest lagoons, only a 20-minute ride from the airport, the project appeals to luxury travelers and includes three resorts. The Hard Rock Hotel Maldives will offer 178 guestrooms, family suites, beach villas and one- and two-bedroom overwater villas.
“Known for its vibrant culture, top-of-the-line luxury and some of the most breathtaking white-sand beaches in the world, Maldives is truly a slice of paradise and one of the world’s most desirable destinations,” said Todd Hricko, senior vice president, head of global hotel development, Hard Rock International. “Traditionally regarded as being a popular honeymoon destination, we at Hard Rock are excited to work with the Singha Estate team to captivate multi-generational travelers, showcasing that the destination can cater to more than just newlyweds.”
The Hard Rock Hotel Maldives combines modern design with tropical flair, incorporating regionally-inspired music memorabilia. The property will offer the brand’s signature amenities, such as The Sound of Your Stay music program, Rock Spa, Rock Shop, Roxity Kids Club and Teen Spirit Club. Dining includes a pool bar, all-day dining venues, beach grill restaurant and in-villa dining experience, in addition to the Hard Rock Cafe Maldives. The restaurant will provide 185 indoor and outdoor seats with exclusive beach access.
It’s expected the hotel will create more than 350 jobs, and the integrated resort will create an additional 1,250.
“This is the perfect complement to our integrated leisure and recreation experiences with Hard Rock Hotels and Hard Rock Cafes as part of The Emboodhoo Lagoon project,” said Thiti Thongbenjamas, chief investment officer, Maldives project, Singha Estate Public Company Limited.
