Tips / Travel

When it comes to dining on a plane the in-flight meal leaves much to be desired. You’re better off just sticking to a few snacks from home. Here are a few bites that’ll keep your energy up and provide you with much-needed protein for your trip.

PB&J

This childhood favorite is one that never gets old. It’s easy to make, to boot! The peanut butter packs plenty of protein, especially if you toss on some pretty large dollops. Afterwards, it might even help you fall asleep.

Nut Bars

Nut bars pretty much have their own aisle at the grocery store these days and with good reason. Most of them are a healthy snack everyone can enjoy. They’re also chockfull of necessary protein.

Jerky

Jerky is a great way to get in some protein on the plane. There are plenty of tasty and healthy varieties out there, or you can simply make your own at home. The time it takes to chew will also keep your mouth from drying up.

Trail Mix

There’s nothing better for an on-the-go snack than some trail mix. You can pretty much put whatever you want in yours at home, so slip some chocolate chips and cranberries in with plenty of nuts for a protein-laden treat with a little bit of sweetness to help it go down.
