While landmarks like the Lincoln Memorial and National Mall serve as iconic beacons of Washington, D.C., the city is home to many historic buildings. Narrowing down places to visit on your trip can be daunting. On your next trip to our nation’s capital, be sure to check out these popular historic buildings.

Ford’s Theatre

Still a functioning theater, Ford’s Theatre was built in 1863 and holds the unfortunate title of the site of the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln.
