Hong Kong Foodie Tasting Tours

Looking for a great way to see Hong Kong’s local food scene? Embark on a Hong Kong Foodie tour. The tour provider recently unveiled its newest experience, the Temple Street Night Foodie Tour, which takes travelers to the neighborhoods of the Yau Tsim Mong district for a nighttime dive into Hong Kong’s culinary landscape after dark.

The tour includes six small eateries, with special attention paid to the destination’s beloved street food, as well as the neighborhood’s renowned seafood. Other treats to expect include curry fish balls, Sichuan pancakes, egg puffs and five-flower tea.

The tour lasts for three hours, ending with a seafood dinner. In addition to highlighting the food itself, it also gives travelers a glimpse at Hong Kong’s local culture, from entertainment to market vending to fortune telling.

“The Temple Street Night Foodie Tour is a perfect way for Foodies to spend an evening in one of Hong Kong’s most energetic and eclectic areas,” said Cecilia Leung, founder and director, Hong Kong Foodie. “In an area lined with street food stalls and seafood restaurants, we handpicked the best and most unique ones frequented by true Hong Kong natives, away from the tourist traps. Foodie participants can savor our hometown favorites just like a local and learn about Hong Kong’s culinary culture.”

If you’re not quite sure the nighttime foodie tour is right for you, the other Hong Kong Foodie tasting tours could be right up your alley. The Tai Po Market tour is four hours visiting six, family-run eateries, beyond Hong Kong’s more crowded areas, with a focus on less-familiar fare. Try a spoonful of snake soup, handmade Chinese candies and more.

The Sham Shui Po tour is filled with history, architecture and cultural remnants of the past. The featured local restaurants are community staples. You’ll try handmade dumplings and noodles, baked goods and a quintessential Hong Kong breakfast.

Lastly, the Central & Sheung Wan tour is all classic Hong Kong cuisine, representing the best of the best and the stories behind each bite you’ll try. For those who want a beginner’s experience, this may be the best to go with, as you try the city’s classic culinary favorites.
