Hotel Club La Serena is by no means a luxury resort, but it does offer a lot of bang for your buck. The seaside location and short walk from downtown La Serena make the perfect spot to set up shop for a weeklong trip to the city.
The hotel boasts an outdoor pool and scenic ocean views from every room. Inside you’ll find a fitness center, while outside there’s a children’s playground and tennis court. They also have bicycle rentals available for anyone who hates to walk. There is an on-site restaurant, but the food is nothing to write home about. It’s helpful for those times you simply can’t work up the energy to head out for a meal. There’s also an outdoor garden that makes for a nice spot to relax.
Some rooms in the hotel offer a terrace, great since the rooms aren’t particularly spacious. The hotel itself is clean and housekeeping is on top of their game. There’s also free WiFi throughout the entire hotel, and televisions in the rooms.
While I wouldn’t say Hotel Club La Serena is a must-try, it does provide comfortable accommodations in a great location. Travelers used to luxury will probably want to give it a pass, but if you’re more concerned with affordability and distance from attractions, it’s one of the best options in town.
