As someone soon to embark on a year of travel to exotic new worlds, it’s a real dilemma deciding what to bring with you and what to leave behind. For photography enthusiasts, the biggest problem is deciding on your camera and equipment. At this point, most of us have a smartphone, many owning an iPhone of some sort. The camera on the average iPhone is quite good, at least for the habitual selfie taker. But for those of us who want to take some genuinely good photographs to document our travels, is an iPhone camera sufficient?
Most would argue that, while it’s a decent substitute for your DSLR camera, it’s just not the same. Thankfully, there have been some clever developments in the iPhone camera world to help us with our packing.
Moment Lens developed a series of miniature attachable lenses compatible with iPhones that drastically enhances the quality and capabilities of the iPhone’s camera. They have a selection of three different lenses; the wide lens, the tele lens and the macro lens.
These are about the size of a dime and fit neatly over the iPhone’s natural lens. At the cost of just $100 each, you’ll be saving money on a full-sized DSLR camera, as well as space in your luggage. You can carry these lenses around in your pocket if you want, but you’d be better off taking more care of them and stowing them away in a safe compartment wrapped in kid’s gloves.
