Trends emerged recently for skin treatments include icing, massage and jade rollers. This small tool has been around for a long time in Chinese medicine. It acts in the same way facial message works — meant to detoxify the skin by promoting circulation and exercising facial muscles.

This instrument is small and consists of a handle, on either side of which are small jade cylinders of varying sizes. These are ideal for different parts of your face. As a gemstone, jade is said to have properties that release stress in the organs and discharge toxins.

The proper way to use a roller is pretty straightforward. Use the larger cylinder for your cheeks and forehead and the smaller one for your eye and mouth areas. Apply gentle pressure and roll upward along your cheekbones. When trying to sooth your lymphatic system, it is generally a rule to massage away from the center of your body. In this instance, think of that as your nose.

The results promised by regular use of a jade roller include a reduction in puffiness and wrinkles, the tightening of pores, better circulation and elasticity in your skin and general improvement of the lymphatic system. However, even if you do not see some of these cosmetic effects, the relaxing nature of this practice has been said to reduce stress and level hormones. A good jade roller will cost less than $25 dollars and last for years.
